Infranew – Southeast Europe was established in July, 2018, as an entity under the Bulgarian Law of Non–Profit Legal Entities / LNPLE/.

The establishment of our organization was preceded by the establishment of Infranew -Bulgaria, chaired for a period of about ten years by the late Prof. Krastyo Petkov – a prominent public figure, politician, trade union leader and advocate for equal dialogue of Bulgaria with other European and developed countries.

Prof. Krastyo Petkov was among the main drivers for strengthening Bulgarian-German relations on the basis of partnerships between public authorities and private companies on both sides.

Together with the esteemed Detlef Kuchenbecker from Berlin, Germany, they laid the foundations of Infranew in Bulgaria and have been working for more than a decade to strengthen the bilateral dialogue and create successful public-private partnerships.

Today, Mr. Detlef Kuchenbecker plays pivotal role for the establishment of “Infranew – Southeast Europe”, a full member of our organization; and he actively participates in formulating the Agenda of the organization – for stronger and more constructive partnerships between the public and private sectors, taking into account the full membership of Bulgaria in the European Union.

Infranew – Southeast Europe is an independent organization under Bulgarian legislature and it is funded by membership fees.
